Another 100 Days

Back in April, I jumped in on The 100 Days Project, which you can read more about HERE.

My 100 days were up on July 13th, and during that time, I managed to finish 8 handwork projects, and move several others further along.

There were days when I did not even take the time to sit down and do any handwork at all, and for an entire month I was traveling quite a bit. Part of my problem was sheer exhaustion (oh, and two weeks of being sick), so out of 100 days, I only managed 45 days of hand stitching. Not a good record — so I’m trying it again, starting today!

Here are a few pictures of some of the projects I finished during the last round. I finished my Cathedral Window Pillow (info HERE):

I finished hand quilting a baby quilt, and put binding on two other quilts by hand. I’ll show you the baby quilt in a future post soon.

I made this little embellished-fabric mini quilt for Dear Stella to hang in their booth at Quilt Market. You can’t really see it too well, but I didn’t get any pictures of it myself (as usual).

I finished knitting this scarf:

This dishcloth (my favorite so far):

And a dishcloth like this, altho I can’t find my finished one to take a photo of (true to form). I’m already on my second dishcloth from this color, and it’s almost finished!

I did some appliqué, I hand-pieced some vintage quilt blocks together, I crocheted on my Granny Stripe afghan, I did some English paper piecing, I worked on my knitted prayer shawl (which is also dangerously close to being finished), and worked on restoring blocks in a vintage quilt top for a friend of my mother’s. You can get a lot done in 45 days! You can see those photos on my Instagram page (@prairiemoonquilts).

A couple of my readers joined in, and worked on their own projects for 100 days. Yvonne finished hand quilting an entire large quilt that she had previously hand pieced, and Leslie worked on her crochet project. It’s fun to know others are stitching along.

And now I’m trying for another 100, and I hope I can manage more than 45 days this time, and finish more than 8 projects! I’ll post some periodic updates here on the blog, but you can also follow me over on Instagram @prairiemoonquilts where I’ll be posting (hopefully daily) photos of the hand stitching I’m working on for the next 100 days. And feel free to join in, if you have something you want to try for 100 days. We can cheer each other on!

On a side note, I also got my treadmill set back up and working again, after 4 years of living here with it in pieces in the living room. So while I’m working on 100 days of hand stitching, I’m also shooting for 100 days of walking on my treadmill. I could finish some projects and drop a few pounds at the same time! We’ll see how it goes!

For now, I think I’m gonna go sit in my comfy chair and start this off with some more knitting! What are YOU going to work on for the next 100 days?

I think I need to set some serious goals for the next 100 days. I have at least 10 quilt tops that next to be quilted, plus I have at least four quilts to piece and quilt for gifts. Guess I should get started!!! You are my inspiration!
