The 8th Annual Final Countdown!

Posted on December 28, 2016 by prairiemoonquilts in The Final Countdown

It’s upon us. The last few days of 2016.

One last chance to wrap things up, and prepare for a fresh new start on January 1st.

I like to take this week to clear the decks, do some future planning, and take stock of what I did this past year and what I need to do in the coming year. (As if I have total control over that — hahahahaha!)

And the last three days of the year are a last-ditch effort at some major organizing and catching up, just so I don’t feel quite so overwhelmed headed into the next year. (Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!)

Even tho I’m still behind on a lot of things, I don’t feel like I’m as bad off as I was a year ago, so I’m calling that progress. I learned a lot of things that I’m going to put into practice, so that this time next year, I’ll be doing even better than I am right now — always room for improvement!

So I’m once again hosting The Final Countdown so you can join me in this effort to start 2017 off on the right foot.

If you’ve done this with us before, then welcome back. If you’re new here, I hope you’ll join in with us this time. Here’s how it works . . .

  • Beginning tomorrow, I’ll post a task for us to do each day for three days in a row; a different task each day.
  • Your job is to do the task, if you so desire.
  • After you’ve done the task, leave a comment on the post that you did it, and how it went for you. If you want to write a blog post of your own and link back to it, that’s great — we all love stories, and photographic evidence!
  • I’m offering up a prize for each task, so be sure and leave a comment for each task that you complete. You’re only eligible for the prize for that task if you did the task and left your comment. If you do all three, you’ll have three chances to win. How many you choose to do is completely up to you. Easy!

I’ll give you till January 6th to complete all the tasks and leave your comments. I’ll draw for the three winners late in the day on the 6th. That should give you time to get to them all, right?

So there you have it — simple rules, and prizes!

Check back in tomorrow, and I’ll post our first task. Are you ready?

Gone away again for the year end. So wish I was able to take part. It would help to make a better start for next year. All taking part in the challenge go for it!

I’m so glad you are doing this again. I was just going through my old blog posts about it and thinking if you weren’t doing it, I’d just do the challenges again on my own. They always get my New Year off to a great start! So looking forward to it! Thanks!

I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’ve not done a whole lot of quilting (or blog posting) this year and I hope it gets me back in the mood to quilt.

I’m ready! I like the idea of starting fresh for 2017,
I’d hoped to finish a couple of quilts this last week, but with the high temperatures in TX and no air conditioning, I have been really lethargic, so no much has been done. I don’t do heat really well. I don’t do cold really well either. I think my temperature span is about 5 degrees. LOL

Well It took me all of 3 days but I got my sewing room back. Yeah me. I have probably done the 3 challenges these past 3 days. LOL!
I am making myself a promise for this coming year. I WILL FINISH ALL i HAVE STARTED BEFORE STARTING ANOTHER PROJECT!
I also promised this to my hubby, and I do not break a promise to him if I can possibly help it. I only broke a couple in 54 years I think I’ve done well. That was because I was in the hospital or
very sick. Anyway I am tired but very happy that I finally have my sewing room back. By the way My cat Zinnie-Mae is also. She loves my sewing room.
