Creativity Challenge #23

I hope you found something creative to work on last week.

I went completely back to the beginning and added some more to my doodling. It’s getting bigger!

I also managed to finally make it to my first meeting with the art group I found near me. Boy, am I waaaay under qualified for being there! But I’m like a chicken — I wake up in a new world every day — so undaunted, I still plan to keep going when I can. If all I do is sit there and watch all of them draw, I’ll learn a LOT, and that is mostly the point.

The group meets at the art gallery, and they’re hanging a new show in July with a blue theme, and I’ve been invited to submit something. At this point, that something is going to be a quilt! I’m not quite ready with a drawing or painting yet, but maybe someday.

And now onward to this week’s challenge:

Paint a watercolor background

Just paint an entire piece of watercolor paper in whatever size you want with the all over background color(s) of your choice. Quick, easy, and fun!

I can’t decided on a color, so I’m planning on making at least 2 backgrounds. Then I’ll have a choice when the time comes. Time comes for what, you ask?

Next week’s challenge, of course!

Next week, I’ll challenge you to do something with this painted background. It’ll still be fun! Are you in?

Where is the art group and where will the show be? I plan to go to an art exhibit later this month at the KV art center.

what is fun real fun… Is having a pinch of coarse salt and sprinkling it on a wet water color wash. Let dry and rub off gently… spangly stars.

  3. Hi Shelly,
I was so behind on the challenges. But I’m now all caught up. Looking forward to the new one on Thursday. Have a great day!
