Modern Heritage Quilts

It seems like eons ago that I pieced a couple of quilt tops for Amy Ellis for her new book. It’s excruciating to wait for all the work you’ve done to finally show up in print. But it’s all worth it in the end when you get to hold the fruits of your labor in your hands, and Amy got to do that a couple weeks ago when her book was finally released into the wild!

The book is called “Modern Heritage Quilts: New Classics for Every Generation”.

You can purchase a copy of Amy’s book HERE, and I’d wager she’ll be happy to autograph it for you. Plus, if you order this week, you can get 20% off by using her coupon code!

She sent me an autographed copy simply because I pieced two of the quilts for her. And they were fun, I might add. And I didn’t have to quilt them myself!

Here’s the Tunnels quilt I pieced. Such fabulous negative space!

And I’m here to tell you today that I would have purchased the book anyway, because it’s been a long time since I picked up a book and have loved every single quilt in it!

And while I’ve already pieced two of them, I’ve already picked out at least three more I want to make. I’m sure that they’ll use up all my scraps, and then I’ll be out of fabric and have to go buy more. Can you believe that?

I think I’m going to start with this one, called The Comfort Quilt.

I might have to go start cutting it out today! If you need me, I’ll be in my sewing room!

Okay, I’m not buying that it will use up all your scraps to make these three quilts, but if it does, I have another ton I can ship to you. LOL Looks like a great book. I’ll have to investigate.

I just finished piecing Amy’s “Abloom” quilt from this book and it is wonderful. It went extremely fast and the templates were just perfect.
