The Latest

Without very many pictures.

I’ve been too lazy to pick up the camera.

It feels like I’ve been working in slow motion lately.

I think I might be reaching the point of overwhelm, even though all the stitching I had to get done for Market is finished. That just means I’m behind on customer quilts to be longarm quilted.

In truth, I’m still having a hard time dealing with the loss of Big Dan and Dandee.

And yesterday, we sold the last of our calf crop from this year, which also makes me a little sad. I get way too attached for someone in the cattle business! Why can’t they all just be my pets?

But work goes on, and I have been working.

I’m a little slow posting the Christmas stockings for the Pink Boot Event, but there’s a bigger selection now, and I have more to post in the next few days, too, so if you haven’t seen one you like yet, keep checking back, because they’re all different, and I will keep posting more. Here’s the three newest ones I posted most recently:

I also finished this Christmas Tree Skirt from some French General fabrics. I made it using my Liberty Stars pattern, which is available in my Etsy Shop. I’m also listing the Christmas Tree Skirt in my Etsy shop, if I can bring myself to do it. Have I ever mentioned how much I love French General?

And I finished the scarf I was knitting for my daughter, and she was actually here to visit for a few days, and I got to give it to her in person! And still forgot to take any pictures — of her or the scarf.

And today is the day to announce the winners of the Forever Fencin’ patterns. They are:

Congratulations! I’ll get those right out to you.

I’ll be back soon with some more news, and hopefully I’ll be in a bit cheerier mood!

It is so hard losing our beloved pets, but you were hit doubly hard because their deaths happend so close together. Know that both Dandee and Big Dan knew you loved them and loved you back.

  2. I love French General, too. It’s awesome. Still thinking of you. Big hugs…..

Healing takes time. I’m still grieving the loss of our beagle this summer. Haven’t even been able to post about it yet. I get attached too – named the first beef we raised after we were married. Never did THAT again! I bawled my head off when we took him in. I vote for keeping the tree skirt – I’m a French General fan too!
