This recipe was a staple in the household of our neighbor lady when I was growing up. She has a daughter named Conda, and I always thought she should have called these Conda Bars. Sure didn’t matter what they were called when she pulled them out of the oven and had us dig in!

1 1/2 sticks melted butter

1 pound brown sugar

2 2/3 cups flour

2 1/2 tsps. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

3 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 12-oz. package chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Mix all ingredients together, and spread in a greased sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in squares and watch them disappear!
