How did you do with drawing an object last week?

I finished only one of my trees, but I’m working on two others.

Just like all the other doodles and drawings, they’ll be in progress for awhile. I’ll post some updates now and then.

My Cowboy bought me a new sketch book! It’s 12″ x 18″. I’m planning to do my fourth tree drawing in this one.

This week — more color! This week we’re going to:

Make a drawing using only crayons

You get to choose the size of your drawing, the colors you use, and your subject matter. The only rule is to use only crayons to make your drawing. It’ll be fun!

This is a great one to do with your kids, too — I felt like a kid again — there’s just something about the smell of crayons, isn’t there?

Since I could hardly wait to use my new sketchbook, I just started right in with my drawing!

I’m basically doodling with the black crayon, then filling in with the colors. It goes fast, and I’m anxious to find time to add more to it!

Have fun with your crayons this week!

I really like your tree! I’ve got three of my object done, but mine are pretty small and simple. I was surprised at how difficult this was for me. And crayons! I have a whole brand new box just waiting for me. Yippee!!

Woohoo, crayons!! And to think, I nearly threw out all of ours.

I finished three of last week’s illustrations and will get them up today. I am still stewing about my idea for the fourth. It won’t really be hard but will take time to do…time I am not sure I have. My new tables are coming home today (11 feet of flat work space–can you imagine?), so i’ll be trying to make room for those. Bins, mats, and lights are on their way too. 🙂

But crayons? I can do that.

p.s. Your Cowboy gets bonus stars for the big sketch book!

  4. Hi,
I’ve finally posted my crayon drawing. Even thought I’m not good a drawing. Have a great day!
