Here we go with The 350 Blocks Project for 2016! I’m so excited about it this time — I think it gets more fun every year!
Are YOU ready?
I’m hoping to finish a lot of my UFOs this year, so I plan to be making lots of blocks (more than last year), and I’m hoping you will join me. As always, our main goal is to make 350 quilt blocks this year.
But I’m really hoping we do more than that. It’s become a fun challenge to see if, as a group, we can always do better than we did the year before.
Think we can make more than that in 2016? That’s what I’m shooting for, so I hope you’re all in to help me out.
For lots of you, 350 blocks is really easy. That’s nearly a block a day for the entire year. I debated whether to change the name of the project, but decided to go ahead and leave it at 350. It’s a good goal to shoot for, and if you get past it early, then I’m really hoping you just go all out and help boost that final total as much as you can.
If you’ve been in this with me for awhile now, you pretty much know how it works, but for those of you who might be new, you are most welcome to join, and here is how it works:
Here are the general rules:
* Let me know you’re playing along
Simply comment on this post, or contact me to let me know you’re in. I deleted all of last year’s info to start fresh, so if you are playing along again this year, please let me know again, and I’ll add you back. (It just keeps me from getting confused.)
I’ve created a page for the 350 Blocks Project HERE, where I’ll be listing information regarding the project and how it’s progressing. If you’re participating, I’ll put your name (and a link to your blog if you have one) on the project page. You can jump in any time.
If you only want to do some of the months, that’s fine. You’ll be eligible for the prize that month. Can’t start till later? No problem, you can still do the months you’re able to, and you’ll still be eligible for the grand prizes in the end. Just do what you can.
* Report in every month
I’ll put up a monthly blog post about the project, either on the last day of the month, or the first day of the next month, where I’ll show you the blocks I get done. When you see one of those posts, you need to leave a comment on it, telling us all about your own progress, and either link back to your own blog post, or at least let me know how many blocks you’ve done. You can also email me directly with your current number of blocks, or use the contact page to let me know. I’ll give you a few days to report in each month, so that you have time to leave your comment and be eligible for the prize, because . . . if you don’t let me know you’re playing along, I won’t know to include you in the drawings!
I’ll post your number of completed blocks next to your name on the project page, so you can see how you’re doing compared to everyone else, and I’ll update it every time you let me know your new number. This is NOT a race, however, and everyone who reports in is eligible for the prizes. I repeat, it’s not a contest, it’s just for fun! Well . . . and prizes!
* Monthly prizes
At the end of each month, I’ll have a prize drawing for those who have made progress that month. I’ll draw one random winner from everyone who reports in that month. What this means is: You MUST report in each month in order to be eligible for that month’s prize drawing.
* Grand Prizes
At the end of the year, there will be some Grand Prizes. If you actually meet the goal of 350 blocks, you’re eligible for the big Grand Prize, and if you don’t quite make it, you’re still eligible to win some prizes just for participating. Everyone who has reported in at least once during the Project is eligible for the final prize drawings.
So are you ready?
If you’re up for the challenge, let me know you’d like to participate, and you can steal the button above for your blog if you like (which isn’t mandatory, either). Just link back to: <https://prairiemoonquilts.com/?page_id=1037>
Here we go! Woohoo!
Hi! I want to participate in the 350 project, so please add me to your list. Becka Meyers
Count me in again! Hopefully I’d get much more done than I did last year! Anne Parker
I want to participate again this year.
January I did 88 blocks
Hi-I am going to try to do this again. I got very lax about reporting at the end of the year. My UFO list is longer at the beginning of this year than it was last year. I have 40 UFOs now. Hope I can reduce it by year end. Thanks for doing this challenge Shelley.
Oops, sorry that I spelled your name wrong Shelly.
I am in!!!! Keeps me a bit better focused! Thanks for doing this again!
I am also in this for the year. It is one way that I can keep track of some sort of progress, lol.
I’m excited that you’re doing this again this year. It’s always such fun to keep count. I’m not expecting to get anywhere near last year’s total, but that’s ok. My website is http://www.snowydaysquilting.com
I’m in! I have a long, long list UFOs I want to finish and new projects I want to make in 2016. It’s a good thing we get an extra day this year!
Sure hope I remember to count my stuff as I make them. Should be interesting!
Count me in!
Count me in. My goal is to finish all my UFO’s this year. I have 14 UFO’s so that should be do-able. Here’s to all the blocks wanting to be made!
I’m in again!!
I will be moving at the end of this month but then I will definitely be up for the challenge. Count me in.
This sounds like fun – I want to join this year!
thanks for doing this.
I will give it another try.
I’m in…I love retirement. I finally get to play along. I do have a question. I just made three Yellow Brick Road quilts this month. Each required 49 blocks. So would that be 120? I know how to count but I’m looking for clarification.
Crystal in Cedar City
You know I’m in. I love this project. Here’s hoping for a good sewing weekend. The snow is falling hard right now and that is a good sign.
Of course, I’m in. It’s one of the few rewards for being so insane. LOL
yes I am in
I’m in again! Time to get started. 🙂
I will try to be better this year than I was last. I did get things done. . . .but it doesn’t seem like I ever remembered to tell you! LOL

I’m in again – love this project.
Count me in again for 2016. I love the challenge.
Yay, and I’m already counting! =) Thanks for not changing the page we link to – it means less change for me on the link. =)
I an definitely in for this project. It helps to keep me motivated on finishing these UFOs
I will play along again!!!!
I will give it a whirl.
Count me in again! I’ve got a lot of quilts to finish up! Thank you!
I’m in. Have lots of projects to get done this year (not to mention UFOs which won’t count for blocks!)
You know me… I’m in again. I’ll try to be better about reporting in.
I’m in again – it keeps me making baby quilts. As for my own, I plan to be making applique quilts so those will only slowly add to the number finished.
This is so motivating and fun. I’m in awe of all those ladies who made over a 1000. Wow!
Count me in this year. This should help inspire me. Hopefully i can keep up all year.
I’m going to give this a shot. I’m not much of a traditional quilter so I will have to improvise on the block count. Can’t imagine making anywhere near 350.
Here we go again. I’ll try it again.
Count me in,
I’m in!

Sounds like lots of fun. Add me in.
I’ll join this year – I’ve never counted blocks before, only completed quilt tops
Hi! I want to participate in the 350 project, so please add me to your list.
I’m am in
I have always sat on the sidelines and watched as others counted their blocks. I’d like to play along this year.
Hi Shelly,
I want to join in this year. I didn’t do too good last year. So I’m hoping I will do better this year. So far for January I’ve done 12 blocks. Have a great day!
I’m a little bit late reporting in, but please count me in again this year. Thanks for doing this, Shelly, it was a good motivator last year!
I’ve seen this the last couple of years, but not joined in – this year I’m in! Thank you for organising it!
I’m in! This is my first time. Hopefully this will keep me motivated throughout the year. ~ Jackie Hale
January count 57.
January count for me is 40. twelve of those are Triangle Salad!!! I love them.

I would love to join if it’s not too late.
Kind regards, Clare Moore
I would like to join too again. I only got 5 blocks done in January due to my busy schedule. Plan on better results in February.
Slow month…..I was away part of January. 🙂 My big total is 43. With tax season starting that may look like a great number for the next few months!
Please add me to the list. I’ve never really kept track of projects or blocks so think this will be fun. Barbara G.
Count me in! I am hoping to get lots of blocks made this month. http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com
Count me in for 2016 — but with a slow start.
I would like to join the 350 Block Project for 2016 – Late start but will try to work on blocks starting February 2016.
Well February went by fast I did get 57 blocks done.
I did 82 blocks
I’m in. I sent an email in Feb asking to be part of the 350 for 2016 and reported 50 blocks for Jan. I’m not sure how to continue reporting since I have only received one email welcoming me. Feb blocks 213. Also I don’t see my name on the list of participants.
Thank you,
Barbara B
I completed 47 blocks in March
Would really like to join your 350 block challenge. Thanks! Virginia Boudwin
My March total was 47 blocks, this has not been added to my Jan and Feb number.
Thank you,
Barbara B
I managed to make 19 blocks for April. Hope to do better in May! LOL…..
I made at least 22, so that’s my report for April. Really must make lots more next month!
This sounds like a great idea… fun, and a way to encourage completing those projects. ‘
😉
I managed 48 blocks for April. I don’t think I will get many done for May but I will try.
I reported 84 blocks for April and this is not on my total.
Thank you
June, 14 blocks
Hi 🙂 I know it’s mid September all ready but I’d love to join in. I just noticed your linky button on Susan’s blog (desert sky quilting). With lots of quilty goodness on my Christmas to-make list, if I don’t hit your 350 blocks mark there’s people who aren’t getting quilty presents that are on my list! Since I’m not worried about pervious blocks made, I’ll just start counting fresh from today. 🙂
Hi Shelly…just found your blog am and joining today! Hopefully I can get thru a lot of my stash
I’m in!! I’ve got several quilts to make so I just need to keep counting right?! This sounds like fun. I just need to figure out where to report them.
