Studio Organizing, Week 36

Posted on September 3, 2015 by prairiemoonquilts in Studio Organizing Challenge

Now that all your finished quilts are in order, don’t you feel much better?

I made a feeble start at it. That little pile I showed you last week is the only finished quilts I dealt with, but it’s a start! I was gone for most of the week to my daughter’s wedding, so I have a good excuse.

Here’s the newlyweds, at the reception. And before you ask, NO, I don’t have their quilt done yet. They’re having a big party/reception later for more friends and family, so I’m shooting for that date.

This week’s task is another one I need to repeat:

Clean out and organize one drawer

We’ve done this 3 times already this year, and I love my 3 clean and organized drawers, but that one cabinet still has 3 more drawers, so I’d love to get one entire cabinet organized before the end of the year (which is fast approaching, by the way — have you noticed?).

Here’s the drawer I’ve chosen:

Drawerbefore

It’s the last small drawer in this cabinet, and it’s not in bad shape, and looky there — there’s the roll of Glo-tape I’ve been hunting for! This will be easy. Then I’m gonna have to get serious with the larger drawers!

How about you?

Are you all done organizing drawers, or do you still have a few that need attention?

If you don’t have any drawers left to organize, choose a shelf, a tub, a bin, a box, or some other area. There’s always someplace that needs a bit of help, right? Or is that just me?

I’ve been finding lots of things I’d forgotten I even have, found lots of things to give away or just get rid of, and even some things I’ve been looking for ever since we moved. My Cowboy said to me just last night: “This 2-story house isn’t big enough for you and all yer quiltin’ stuff!” I said: “It will be when I’m done with it!”

I have a long way to go.

Thanks for hanging with me on this journey.

Let me know what you’re working on this week, and if you find any goodies while you’re cleaning out a drawer!

What a sweet moment! Your daughter is beautiful!

So I didn’t do anything with my finished quilts but I did clean off half of the table I have been making slow progress on and organized a bin of fabric. So I feel somewhat good about organizing this week.

I have no drawers but I have a cubby hole with shelves that I keep looking at that really needs cleaned. This week I will work on the top shelf.

Thanks for all your motivation – I can see that I have made some progress on my sewing room.

No work done on finished quilts although I did spend time thinking about their fate. The drawer week will be great for me. I cannot locate all my marking tools and have just bought more pencil boxes to contain items. So drawer organization it is as in I am putting them in their proper drawer!

I did get them in a stack. http://melsquiltingblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/prairie-moon.html
I’ll work on this one drawer. I hope I can focus a bit more.
Thank you for taking us on this journey. It has been a great help.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! You’re daughter is beautiful! And, yes, that’s a valid excuse. 🙂
My excuse is our trip to Africa…how long can I use that one? 🙂
