Perpetual Calendar Journals

In my previous post, I mentioned “Happies”, little gifts that we girls make to give each other every year at our annual retreat.

I have to put a lot of thought into what I’ll be making, if for no other reason than to come up with something different every year.

And once I hit upon an idea, I still never start soon enough, because I have to make 9 of them!

Back last fall, I ran across this tutorial for Vintage Postcard Calendar Journals on Design*Sponge, and thought it would be the perfect Happy. It also meant I had to make 10 of them instead of 9, because I wanted one for myself, too!

It’s really very easy to do — stamping the dates on the cards is what takes the longest.

You can read and follow the tutorial for the instructions HERE, if you’d like to make one for yourself, or make lots for all your friends, too.

I found my berry baskets from Dime Store Buddy on Etsy. I love the color of these!

For my own journal, I used cards that I had collected over time, trimmed to size, for my dividers:

For the Happies I made the girls, I found these cute journal card printables from Catisfy on Etsy, then printed out as many as I needed on card stock and trimmed them to size. I love the colors — they look like candy!

You could use any cards or dividers you want to, and make yours personalized just for you!

    I love this!

I have been jotting notes on an old perpetual calendar that was my Mom’s. She had jotted notes on different occasions and I’m continuing the tradition.

I do like the idea of an entry every day! I’ll try to be better about that.

    Thanks for the idea.
