Arrow Rock Quilt Camp — The Project

Posted on March 12, 2014 by prairiemoonquilts in Studio News

I told you a while back about Arrow Rock Quilt Camp, and that I would be teaching there this year.Arrow-Rock-Quilt-Camp

Well, I’m finally revealing the project that I will be teaching . . .

We’re doing a class on the needle-turn method of hand applique, and we’ll be making the center portion of this table runner:ARTablerunner

In class, we’ll learn all the basics of hand applique, which will also include discussions about thread, needles, marking pencils, etc. All the things you need to know to take the fear out of “the A-word”! If you’re an applique beginner, or if you already know how to applique, it’s a fun project either way. And you’ll leave class with the know-how to finish the table runner on your own, if you don’t get done during camp.

And I’m not the only teacher! Quilt Camp is an entire week of quilting fun, with 4 other teachers also teaching various classes on other fun projects, too — and you can choose the ones you want to take.

For all the information on the classes, teachers, activities, and pricing, just visit the camp website. You can read about the projects and all the fun things we’ll be doing. And get signed up — it’s gonna be too much fun to miss out on!

Congratulations on teaching. I wish I could come. I even went and looked at the whole retreat. I have wanted to learn so many of those techniques. I really want to learn needle turn applique. Right now I’m doing a lot of applique and really would like them to be done that way. Do you have a place I can get help with this?

Looking forward to the class! This gives me a better idea of fabric selection.
