Katy’s Paint Chip Challenge

When I showed you all my Paint Chip Challenge project a while back, I told you I’d also show you the one my sister made.

She got a much easier color combination than I did — Cranberry Zing and Intense Teal — which just happens to be one of her favorite color combinations at this point in time. She has all the luck!

She used a pattern named Quadrado, from SFW Designs, to make her quilt. The third color she chose to put with her two paint chip colors was white. And here is her quilt:KatysPaintChipGreat way to use her colors, huh?

I got to quilt it for her, and I decided with all that white area, that I’d play up the negative space as much as possible. Katy2

Here’s a shot of the back side. From looking at the back, you’d never guess what the front really looks like!Katy3

The finished quilt measures 48″ x 60″, so it’s a throw size. Of course, she finished hers in record time, while I waited until the last possible minute to begin.

Our next challenge is due in April — she’s probably already got her top done, and me — well, I’m not even sure what I did with the fabric! But hey — April is a long way off yet, right?

I think if I were you I would have Katy draw my paint chips too. She definitely did get better colors to play with than you did. Love her quilt and your quilting is totally awesome!
