350 Blocks Project, December Report

Posted on January 1, 2014 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

Well, 2013 is over. We have crossed the threshold of 2014, and it’s time to report how many blocks you got done for the year.350button13

I know a lot of you made multiple sets of 350. I think I made it to goal by the skin of my teeth!

I certainly didn’t add much this month. I made two more tiny HST blocks, 2 blocks I can’t show you yet, and 3 sections of my daughter’s t-shirt quilt, which I’ll show you as soon as I get it finished (one more section to go). That puts my final total at 403. I guess I did better than I was thinking!

So now it’s time to report your totals for the month of December. I’ll keep updating the page.

Prize winners for November are . . .

For meeting the goal of at least 320: Katie Z., who made a whopping 1024 so far (and that’s without adding in any December blocks yet) — can you say overachiever? Whew!

And just for participating: Amanda

I’ll draw for the grand prize winners on January 10th, so be sure and get your totals to me before then. There will also be December prize winners announced at that time as well, so there’ll be announcements galore! Including . . . an announcement about this coming year’s Block Project, so be sure and check back!

Happy New Year!

Sun Bonnet Sue.. I did 20 12 1/2 inch blocks in December. So I think that gets me up to 485. Not a record but I have to also take care of my handicapped hubby. Hope to do better this year. We’ll see..

80 for me in December. This brings me to 409. I made it!

  3. Melissa Pagliai says:

Looking forward to the new year and starting over with another goal! I wonder what those blocks will make this year?

I didn’t update last month, so I’m counting November and December. I finished 98 blocks during those months, which put me at 228 total blocks in 2013. I have to say, I’m really pleased with that number. 🙂

I blogged about my final progress here:

Wow, this group is really amazing. I only managed 11 for December, but I did get some Christmas gifts done (8 zipper pouches) and a really cute thread catcher for my cutting table that I’ve been meaning to do forever. I also started the parts for Bonnie Hunter’s Celtic Solstice Mystery quilt as well, all the parts are cut and I’ve sewed about 40 of each part. She “revealed” the quilt on her blog today and it is a beauty. So its not that I’m not sewing much, just not finishing blocks. This has been a fun challenge.

  8. Diane Jarvis says:

My Yearly total would be 557!

An additional 45 for December, making an even 500 for the year. YAY!

I made 17 more blocks in December. Can’t believe those folks that made over a 1000. Not that I am suggesting they are not honest. I am just in disbelief that one gal can do that much sewing!!! Whew!!!
2013 was a very good year! Thanks Shelly for being a part of the “very good” stuff.
