I finished my piece for the Double Wedding Ring Challenge! Woohoo!
Seriously, I did not think I’d get it done in time, but I did – with 2 hours to spare, no less!
I’ve named it Happily Ever After, because it’s just such a happy quilt. Happy colors, happy fabrics, happy flowers, happy quilting. I’m really happy with it!
I used pieced rings and plain rings, and filled the middle with some fun applique. I fused on some flowers and leaves, and then did hand blanket stitching and embroidery around them. There are some smaller flowers in the center of each outer ring as well.
I had a lot of fun quilting it, too. I used a light gray thread called “Silver” and it blended in wonderfully. You can see the quilting better on the back.
Here’s a shot with no flash, which shows the quilting even more.
My backing has words on it, like peace, hope, love . . . things like that. I think it fits for a Double Wedding Ring quilt, don’t you?
Love it!

I have posted my 350 block post here with 65 blocks for November!
